San Fiz Trail

San Fiz
Category

The San Fiz trail is part of the network of traditional paths that cross the rural surroundings of the municipality of Silleda, connecting settlements such as San Fiz (Margaride) with nearby locations through tree-lined paths and historic routes. These trails form part of local routes linking small villages, stream crossings and connections with larger paths, such as those associated with the Sanabrés Way or the Vía de la Plata route towards Santiago de Compostela.

Along the section that runs to and from San Fiz, the route alternates between wooded paths and dirt tracks, crossing the Toxa River at Ponte da Pedra, a traditional crossing of great scenic interest that forms part of the local heritage. The path passes through meadow areas and small woodlands, descending gently until it connects with other rural settlements in the municipality.

Although it is not an officially signposted trail, this traditional route to San Fiz is often used by hikers and pilgrims. Its rural character, the presence of native vegetation, and its connection with historic paths of the region make this route a peaceful and authentic way to discover the traditional landscape of inland Galicia.
