The Fervenza do Toxa Waterfall can be reached via a trail that leads to the base of the cascade, although it is highly recommended to take a short detour beforehand to visit the Toxa viewpoints. These natural balconies, set on large rocks, offer a privileged panoramic view of the waterfall and the meeting point of the Toxa and Deza rivers, making them one of the most spectacular spots along the route.
The descent towards the waterfall follows a path that gradually leads into a dense natural environment. In the upper sections of the trail, chestnut, oak, cork oak and laurel trees dominate the landscape, while closer to the riverbed the vegetation changes and typical riparian species such as willows, alders and ash trees appear. This botanical contrast accompanies visitors as they approach the heart of the river landscape.
At the end of the route, visitors encounter an impressive waterfall that plunges in a vertical drop of around 30 metres, making it one of the highest waterfalls in Galicia. The roar of the water and the constant mist create a striking and immersive atmosphere. There is also a rest area equipped with stone tables and benches, ideal for taking a break before returning along the same path.
The trail, approximately 1.9 kilometres one way, includes steep sections with stairs and significant slopes, aspects that should be taken into account when planning the visit. The combination of landscape, the sound of the water and the lush vegetation makes the experience unforgettable, allowing visitors to witness nature at its most powerful in one of the most iconic natural spots in the Deza region.
