O Refuxio Restaurant is located in Merza, Vila de Cruces, and offers a gastronomic proposal based on traditional Galician cuisine and contemporary cooking. Its menu includes dishes such as rice, free-range rooster, croca beef cut, cocido and different kinds of game, as well as specialities such as spider crab croquettes, baked scallops and torrijas. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are also available.
The establishment has a long family tradition dating back to the 1950s, when Adolfo Pereira and Piedad Diéguez, grandparents of the current manager, opened a tavern linked to the social movement generated by the exploitation of the wolfram mines of Fontao. The tavern offered bar service and prepared meals and set menus, becoming known for its cocidos and for the possibility of tasting local trout.
